I've cut some of my scraps into 2.5" and 5" squares; a big hassle, but it pays off. When I don't know what to work on, I've just been cutting squares. And those little scraps turned into this:

I tried to use random squares, but it was too random for me, so I chose these pink, oranges, and purples to make a medium sized Noodlehead wide open pouch. The lining is from Amanda Jean Nyberg's Good Neighbors collection at Connecting Threads.
